APEX PROPERTY

Apex Property is a Japan registered company with its office in Tokyo, a boutique Hong Kong developer founded by entrepreneurs Vicky Lam and Sylvia Tang in 2012. Prior to setting Apex Property, they have accumulated years of experience in real estate development in countries such as Hong Kong, China, UK, Australia and USA. Its first project called LOFT Niseko, an ultra-luxury development comprising loft-style apartments in the top tier Japanese ski resort of Niseko. Their second property project called Hanaridge, comprises individual vacant plots and houses, side country ski in access, protected Mount Yotei views and natural hot onsen spring water connection to each plot.

Apex Property only works with the best team of people in the fields of architecture, designers, engineers, contractors, real estate agents, and artists. We work exclusively with local teams who are specialize in the field of Japanese construction, while adapting to the needs of international buyers.

SITE SELECTION

Apex Property always strives for finding the best potential location, when selecting the site, we look for the most pristine view for each site in mind, framing it, whether it’s a ski mountain or river view, particular importance are views towards Mount Yotei. Proximity to ski areas, commercial areas, transportation nodes and convenience is the key.

Apex Property first successful property project in Niseko was called the LOFT Niseko, a building located in the heart of Hirafu Village, architecture designed by Riccardo Tossani Architecture and interior designed by in association to Philip Starck’s Studio called Yoo Studio.

Followed Loft-Niseko, Apex created Hanaridge, which consists of houses and subdivision of lots, with onzen linked to each lot. The standard of Hanaridge has set new standards in luxury chalet skiing for Asia’s ultra-high net worth travelers.

CO-FOUNDERS’ MESSAGE

We have been coming to Niseko every year since 2007, during both winter and summer seasons, we love Niseko because it is truly a unique special place with consistent champagne powder snowfall of 10-15 meters each year, the best agricultural products, lush green nature, clean natural spring water and clean air is in abundance all these at the doorsteps of Asia.

Over the past 12 years we have seen the changes to Niseko as more and more travellers are coming from all over Asia, in recent years more and more from other parts of the world like North America and Europe. As these tourist numbers are increasing each year, the appetite to buy properties in Niseko are also increasing.

With these changes and qualities of Niseko we formed our property development company Apex Property in 2012, subsequently developing two property projects called LOFT Niseko and Hanaridge.

Our mission is to continue developing unique designed property projects in Niseko with only selecting land that offers the best location of having either or both protected Mount Yotei views and/or close proximity to ski lifts, as these two qualities are what purchasers look for and have significant increase capital value.

We believe the Niseko property market where it is today is only the beginning, there will be more positive changes to come, not only with more private property hotel developments but also with more new public infrastructure on and off the mountain.

Apex Property will continue to develop exciting new property projects in many years to come, we are very excited to be part of this journey of shaping Niseko to be a world class winter and summer holiday destination, as most people say Niseko is the Aspen and St Moritz of Asia.

BIOGRAPHY

Sylvia Tang

Sylvia is the CEO and co-founder of Apex Property, developers of three successful property projects called LOFT Niseko, Hanaridge and Hanacreek. She was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Sydney, Australia. Educated in Sydney and obtained a Bachelor Business degree majoring in Land Economics at the University of Western Sydney.

In the beginning of her career she was working as a licensed real estate agent at her family’s property agency business, listing and selling properties.She has sound knowledge of Niseko and the Greater China market with 15 years experience in the property industry, having also personally invested in and re-developed many properties across the country, as well as living for periods in Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong. Her long experience in this field has seen her work alongside some of Asia Pacific’s leading developers and architects.

A combination of her passion for skiing, architecture, property development, the outdoors and amazing delicious food has brought her to Niseko, it’s because of this she decided to start a property development business in Niseko.

Vicky Lam

Vicky Lam is the co-founder of Apex Property, developers of three successful property projects, Loft-Niseko, Hanaridge and Hanacreek. She is a Hong Kong citizen and educated in the United States. Her family is the founder of Lai Sun Group. The group is publicly listed in Hong Kong. She had worked in the group covering real estate and retail businesses in Asia.

She has over 15 yrs of real estate development and investment experience, ranging from residential to commercial projects in the United States, China, and Hong Kong. She has a real estate degree from Harvard, EMBA from Tsinghua and Insead, France. She was also trained as an architect in Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, New York.

She felt that Japan Niseko now offers great opportunities and best timing for investment. Her knowledge in understanding Japanese language helps her to excel in building her projects in Japan.

Takaaki Fukunaga

Takaaki is a Japanese citizen and educated in Japan. After engaged in audit work at KPMG Tokyo, he established his own consulting firm in 2005 and provided tax and accounting services for foreign investors with a focus in Japanese real estate.

He currently serves as director or auditor for several listed and unlisted companies in Japan, including an Real Estate Institutional Trust (REIT) and asset management company.

In the free time, Takaaki likes to golf and surf. He enjoys going to Niseko.

Adrian Seto

Adrian is the Owner Experience Partner at Apex Property. He brings in first-hand knowledge and experience in land purchasing, building and owner management in the Niseko area.

Born in Vancouver, Canada, Adrian grew up in Taiwan, Thailand and United States. He received his undergraduate degree in Finance and Management Consulting from the University of Southern California.

Adrian built his career in management consulting at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Accenture, and real estate experience from residential and commercial investments in Asia, North America and Europe.

Adrian is an avid snowboarder and golfer. He lives in Hong Kong with his wife and two children.
